Trish Miller is the CEO of Swemkids, a nonprofit organization that provides underprivileged children with access to swimming lessons and water safety education. Trish's personal experience of nearly drowning while in college shaped her career and passion for teaching children to swim and stay safe in and around the water.
Trish's passion for swimming and water safety education extends beyond her work at Swemkids. She is a frequent speaker and advocate for drowning prevention, and has been recognized for her contributions to the field with several awards and honors. In her free time, Trish enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time with her family.


Tyanna Jackson born and raised in Chicago, currently resides in Atlanta Georgia with my Spouse and 2 young boys. I currently hold the position as the Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. I’ve been with the Boys & Girls Clubs movement for 7 ½ years, and here is where I found my passion for the development of young people and the importance of community involvement.
Within my tenure I’ve held multiple positions, Youth Development Professional, Healthy Lifestyles Director and an Executive Director. I am a firm believer that it takes a village, therefore I am invested in being a part of that village. Not only are my hands full with the involvement of young people, I am a Proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. I currently hold the position as the Vice President for my graduate chapter. I enjoy dancing, singing, traveling and spending time with my family. I am extremely excited for what SwemKids has to offer the community which solely impacts the world.


Adam Mania is a Former NCAA All-American and Polish Olympic Swimmer currently based in Atlanta. 10 years of experience in swim coaching and non-profit fundraising for the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Milwaukee, WI. Currently works as a Creative Director for Powerade.


Shenna M. Jones, native of Bartow, Georgia is a 2008 graduate of Savannah State University where she received her Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Management. In 2009, Shenna joined the Jefferson County School System until a better opportunity was presented at her Alma Mater, Savannah State University. As Executive Assistant to the Comptroller in the office of Business and Finance at Savannah State University, Shenna assisted with the fiscal affairs of the University’s faculty and administrative staff. In 2012, Shenna was offered a position with Amerigroup Community Care, where she served as the Southeast Marketing Account Manager for 5 years. Every year, Shenna had the pleasure of hosting events such as, Amerigroup Safety Palooza, Ultimate Baby Shower, Amerigroup Farmers Market, Tour de Kids Bike Rodeo and Repack the Backpack giving her the opportunity to educate over 33,000 Amerigroup members and Medicaid eligible enrollees within the Southeast region. Now as the Marketing Coordinator to the Atlanta Amerigroup Marketing team; Shenna still enjoys every bit of the job and is fully committed to supporting her community. Shenna is married to her loving husband Gil Jones of 9 years both reside in Union City, Georgia with their 8 year old Shih-Tzu Kobee.

Denise Carter is an accomplished Forensic Toxicologist and Business Analyst with a proven track record in public health and community outreach. SwemKids is also fortunate that Denise has extensive experience in organizational strategy, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Shannon Clark is the secretary of the Board for SwemKids International. Beyond the board, I am a Scientist for the Naval Information Warfare Center. I support the Command in Business Analyst and Scrum Master roles. I am a graduate of Old Dominion University and Southern Wesleyan University, with a degree in International Studies and an MBA.
I get to be a mom to two really great boys, and currently live in Summerville, SC. SwemKids is introducing the nation and the world to something folks didn't know they needed - the life skill of swimming, the ability for anyone to be comfortable in the water, to enjoy the benefits of swimming, and shaping new cultural norms related to being in the water, for brown and peach folks/everyone.


Instructor Brandon was born on September 13th and is from Atlanta, Ga. In Brandon’s free time, he enjoys playing instruments, spoken word, eating sushi and watching his favorite movie, Save the Last Dance. Brandon, who has been swimming since the age of 9, learned to swim by taking lessons at a city pool. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing his students progress.


Evan was born on April 23rd and is from South Boston, Virginia. In Evan’s free time, he enjoys hanging with friends, eating pizza and watching his favorite movie, Escape room. Evan, who has been swimming since he was little, learned to swim by taking group lessons. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is when the kids get comfortable enough to jump into the pool.


Ava was born on January 8th and is from South Boston, Virgina. In Ava’s free time, she enjoys drawing, running track, eating all types of foods; Asian, Mexican, Italian, and watching her favorite movie, End Game. Ava, who has been swimming since the age of 5, learned to swim when her mom enrolled her in swim lessons. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing the kids grow using the skills she taught them.


Mariah was born on January 25th and is from Richmond, Virginia. In Mariah’s free time, she enjoys swimming, hanging with friends, eating cheese, and watching her favorite movie, Coco. Mariah, who has been swimming since the age of 5, learned to swim when she joined swim team. Her favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing kids have fun and get more comfortable in the water.


Rashad was born on October 15th and is from Atlanta, Ga. In Rashad’s free time, he enjoys singing, eating seafood and watching their favorite movie, Matrix. Rashad, who has been swimming since the age of 5, learned to swim by taking lessons. His favorite part about teaching swim lessons is seeing the kids have a breakthrough on a skill.
